Contact: Get in touch
The DSL manages all safeguarding concerns, maintains records, liaises with external agencies, and ensures this policy is implemented and reviewed regularly.
4. Online Safety in Sessions
All Miss ICT sessions are delivered online. The following safeguarding measures are in place across all services:
- Secure meeting links are shared directly with parents or carers โ never publicly
- Sessions are not recorded without explicit prior consent
- For Arcade Live (max 3 learners), children are encouraged to join from a shared family space
- All group settings โ GCSE and A Level Intensives (max 4 students) and Arcade Live (max 3 learners) โ operate under the Digital Safety Code agreed by all participants and parents before joining
- Arcade Circle is a moderated space. No direct learner-to-learner contact is permitted. All interaction is visible to Dee as moderator
- Children are never asked to share personal details, home addresses, or school names in any group or community setting
- Cameras are recommended but not required; microphones are optional for learners with communication needs
Screen Sharing
Learners may share their screen for coding activities. This is limited to the coding environment only. Parents are encouraged to remain nearby, particularly for younger or more vulnerable learners.
5. Recognising and Reporting Concerns
Miss ICT staff are trained to recognise indicators of abuse, neglect, or welfare concerns. If a concern arises during any session or communication:
- The concern is recorded immediately with date, time, and precise details
- It is not investigated independently โ it is referred without delay to the appropriate authority
- Where there is immediate risk, the police or emergency services are contacted directly
- For EOTAS and provision learners, the relevant local authority or virtual school safeguarding lead is informed
- Parents or carers are informed unless doing so would place the child at greater risk
